The 37th International Circus Festival of Monte-Carlo is an event which every year transforms the Principality of Monaco into the global capital of circus arts. There are several major happenings throughout this unique event:

The Open Door Show (inside the big top), free and open to all, enables the audience to get a better understanding of how a wild cat act works. The great trainer Kid Bauer, who will be presenting 2 acts at the Festival with his 11 wild cats (lions, lionesses and tigers), will explain step by step his training technique with each animal. One after the other the wild cats will come into the ring to work first separately and then all together. The audience will also have the opportunity to see some of the acts of the 37th Festival;

Two exhibitions at the Princess Grace Theatre, one dedicated to circus costumes created by famous costume maker Roberto Rossello for the Bouglione, Gruss and Knie circusses, the other featuring works by painter Parice and entitled “Totem – Animal symbolism” (from the 18th to the 25th of January, from 12 noon to 6 pm);

The trade fair, which is one of the great meeting places for professionals (Marriott Hotel – 18th and 19th January);

The meetings and conferences of the European Circus Association and of the World Circus Federation (Marriott Hotel – 18th and 19th January);

The ecumenical service under the big top (Monday 21st January at 7 pm);

The friendly football match, pitting H.S.H Prince Albert II of Monaco’s Barbagiuans against the international team of the Festival (Cap d’Ail stadium, Monday 21st January at 8.30 pm);

The shop window competition organised by the Monaco Shop Keepers and Artisans Union, a competition for the prettiest shop window in the theme of the circus.
